Dog friendly Leeds

dog walking

Leeds is a vibrant city in West Yorkshire with fantastic shopping areas, loads of museums, interesting architecture and boasting cosmopolitan culture and style.

However, most of that won’t appeal to your dog. So if you are visiting Leeds with your four legged friend let mypawson.com tell you about dog friendly pubs and places to walk.

Dog friendly pubs in and around Leeds

You might be pleasantly surprised at the number of pubs and bars where your dog is welcome. Many will provide you with water bowls, some will even offer treats or a doggy dinner on the menu.

dog friendly pubs in Leeds

Dog friendly pubs are located in both the city centre itself and also in the outskirts of Leeds so depending on where you are, you should find somewhere where you and your dog are welcome.

A few of our favourites are :

Crowd of Favours – LS2 7EA (city centre)

Located in Harper Street near the Leeds Markets this is a great pub offering an original and eclectic drinks menu and good quality freshly prepared food. There is lots going on with live acts and exhibitions and your dog will receive a warm welcome.

Bundobust – LS1 5DQ (city Centre)

Located in Mill street this is a vibrant bar with a range of craft beers and an exciting Indian Street Food menu. Quite an informal atmosphere, but well worth a visit and your dog will be very welcome.

Stew & Oyster Bar – LS8 2HU (2 miles from city centre)

On Roundhay road this is perfect after a walk in Roundhay Park with your dog. The pub has an individual and interesting décor and serves a great range of stews for a bite to eat. There are also branches in the Calls (Leeds city centre) and Boston spa.

The Rodley Barge – LS13 1HP (4.8 miles from centre)

A traditional pub situated on the Leeds Liverpool canal with a wide range of regular and guest ales. There are lovely beer gardens to the front and rear so your dog can enjoy your company whatever the weather.

Of course no trip to the city is complete for your dog unless there is chance for a great walk where you can run, play, possibly chase squirrels and maybe even get wet !

So why not try and fit in a visit to Roundhay Park, a beautiful mix of grass, woodland and Lakeland, with good paths to follow and plenty of free parking.

Check out the website for maps, directions and details of special events held throughout the year.

Roundhay Park is the region’s leading green space in the good parks guide and a perfect day out for you, the dog, your kids and maybe a picnic.

However, if you are tied to the city centre you might want to venture along the Leeds Liverpool canal, which runs through the heart of the city and you can walk as many miles as you like.

There are a few places to walk your dog in the very centre of the city so you need to know about Lovell Park, Park Square, Penny Pocket Park and Woodhouse Moor.

You can find full listing of dog walks in and around Leeds on our Paws Walks page by searching by location and using the radius tool to decide how far away you want to travel.
