This is our local walk, my partner and I often take our two spaniels on this walk because it isn’t too long but tends to tire the pooches and gives them the run around they need.
Here are a few simple directions to help anyone that fancies trying this one out.
Leaving Goose Green car park the walk leads towards Chatsworth Park (which is also a great walk and more flat for anyone that prefers that terrain), passing a row of thatched cottages before going through the fields to the back of The Cavendish Arms.
You then pass through the older part of the village before crossing the former packhorse bridge by the church. Look out for Bubnell Lane, this will lead you down a path that takes you across open fields along the riverside towards Calver.
Once you get to Curber you take a long steep climb up the road through the village followed by several fields which brings you up to Curbar Gap. At the tops of Baslow Edge before dropping down a steep rocky path back to Baslow and the start of the walk.
This walk can be quite tough in places, the steep inclines and the loose rock underfoot but the prize at the top of Baslow Edge is definitely worth it!
Hopefully see you up there.
