Located around 3 miles south of Scarborough, Cayton Bay beach is generally pretty quiet. Comprising a large sweep of fine sand backed by cliffs this beach has a wild air about it and is great for dogs are there are no restrictions.
This was a great walk. The path down, although paved, was very steep. Not so bad going down, but really hard work coming back up !!!!
Access at the bottom of the hills in through a metal staircase, but dogs can just run down the rough patch at the side.
Quite a few dogs there so felt very comfortable letting the dog run free.
The car park at the top was £2 for the day.
Beach was clean and sandy and the as a good stretch to walk along both to the left and the right, with some grassy patches at the bottom of the cliff. Nice and sheltered so a good spot for a picnic. (There were picnic tables in the car park too).
At the side of the car park were paths to walk along the top of the cliffs. We didn’t go too far, but it was a great place to get most of the sand off the dogs feet 🙂
