This park offers miles of trails to choose from in this park. Walks include short routes for little legs and longer walks if you really want to rack up the miles and off lead areas throughout.
There are dog waste bins in the main car park, on the road leading to the Forestry Commission Office, and in Mamhead car park. Just try to stay away from the dedicated cycling trails – the cyclists are speedy and can be seen as a challenge for pooches.
You can find a variety of resources at the park, which makes this walk so easy and perfect for a family day out!
Although the parking isn’t free there are pathed routes, lots of wildlife to see, picnic areas, bodies of water for children and dogs to splash around in, toilets, a lovely cafe, cycle and segway hire and most routes are wheelchair friendly.
The map in the carpark will help you decide which route to take, from easy shorter walks to long harder ones if you like to be more adventurous. It’s all signposted along the way so you can’t get lost. There are also activities for the little ones to do along the way including a big wooden xylophone and huts to play in.
As a family with two youngs dogs and three children under five this offers something for everyone.
