Before you go on this walk you have to be careful of the tide as otherwise you can get trapped in the village. Firstly you walk over the sand dunes, after about 5 minutes turn right and head towards where the mainland meets the sea. You then walk across a large beach. Here you come to more sand dunes but there is plenty of paths between the dunes which you can walk on. Alternatively you can follow the path on the rock edge where you can peacefully watch the seals playing in the sea and rocks. There is also a view of assorted sea birds. As you walk through you come to a second beach, walk across and there is a cliff with more sea birds. Then climb up out of the beach and you approach more sand dunes. Now you come to a third beach, you can then walk through and come to a white pinnacle called St Oswald’s point, once you reach this you can turn back or walk around the headland and walk into Holy Island village.
