Situated in the heart of the city of Edinburgh, these beautifully landscaped gardens are a perfect place to stroll with a pooch and even stop for a picnic on a sunny day. The gardens are actually 2 adjacent parks, referred to as the East and West parks and run the length of Princes Street, below the castle. The paths are well laid out with various monuments to see and plenty of benches to watch the world go by. Large trees give shade in the summer months.
There are WCs but some are disabled only and you will need a special key.
There is no car park as such, but you might grab a space on a nearby street or use the Castle Terrace, NCP car park, which is just a few minutes walk away. The park has varying opening times throughout the seasons.
