Rudyard Lake is a stunning lake in Staffordshire, for top gear fans an episode was once filmed on the lake.
You can walk around the lake or just go part way and turn back depending on how far you want to go. It can get really busy on a sunny day but it is beautiful and there are lots of little secret beach like areas, our dog loves getting in for a swim so this place is perfect.
There are two options:
The East side of the lake follows the line of the railway track so it is flat and straight with relatively easy walking and just a few puddles in wet weather.
The path to the West of the lake ascends a gentle hill to Cliffe Park Hall through a field, after which it descends through a field again and then along a rutted path through Reacliffe wood.
Both are beautiful walks but it just depends how you feel on the day.
